Default My door handles no longer work.......both of them

Well both my door handles from the outside no longer work. First the drivers side and a month later the passenger side went out. I have to roll the windows down and open the car from the inside. It really sux!!!! The stealership of course wants an arm and a leg to see what the problem is. Has this happened to anyone else or am i the only one?

First time I have seen that posted....
They unlock with the keyfab right?

Is there any resistance when pulling the handle? with the door open do you see any action of the locking hook when you pull the handle?

Default Door does not open from inside or outside

My driver door does not open from the inside or outside. The physical key lock on the outside, nor the solenoid from the key fob nor the lever on the handle on the inside, will open this damn thing. I'd love to rip the panels off, but I am not sure if that's possible with door closed. Any ideas?

Mind you, this occurred while out to eat during the day. Could have been someone trying to jimmy the door open and disconnected or broke something?

Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts to the fix.

Thanks!

Both of mine broke too when I took it apart the plastic that holds the spring was destroyed so I had to get new handels... I think the previous owner overtightened them after he painted them but I'm not sure

Alright, so finally I decided to fix my door's handle on the driver side. I called a Nissan dealer, and they wanted $295.00 plus taxes to replace the handle if it was broken/damaged. I said to hell with it, I'll replace it myself. the part costs me $101.86. So i opened up the handle, and there was this piece of plastic(covered by aluminum on the outside, but the inside is really plastic) was broken. so i took the handle to a dealer and they told me i would have to replace the whole thing, so gave them $101.86 they gave me the handle. the whole process only took less than ONE hour. saved me $200.00 bucks. The only tool that I needed was a 10mm socket.

I made an effort to fix this on my Z today. Driver side outside handle inop. After removing the panels and using a 10mm socket to remove the panel on the door I was left with a confusing display of cords and hardware for the window. I quickly reinstalled the panel for fear of not being able to fix the window after fixing the door. Any advice or words of wisdom for me before I try it again?
Thanks in advance!

Have you looked at the FSM and reviewed the body section yet? That's the first thing to do before starting a repair like this.

I don't see this is a Nissan design fault. My preorder '03 track model has never had a problem with the door handles or locks. I haven't heard of many other 350Z owners who've had it either.

You dont even need to remove the door panel or any of that(unless you dropped spring or bolts inside the door)...... There are two 10mm bolts that you need to unscrew on both door handles (They are covered by black plastic plugs when you open the door youll see them) Once you do that please tape off all corners of the door handle so you dont scratch your car. Then unbolt the door handles and pull out/up on both.. The driver side has two lower 10mm bolts because it holds in the lock.

When placing the new door handle all you need to do is place the end of the bar inside the blue square. The reasoning is because when you pull the door handle it pushes the rod down which in turn pushes down the blue square mounted to the lock mechanism that unlocks the door

I know all this because my door handle was also broke a few days ago because someone who worked on my door handle (name starts with T) over torqued the bolt that holds on the spring and it broke/popped off= no door opening/non functional door handle....

If you need any further help please pm me!! I am a door handle genious now..

The grommet looks like this..... But a Z has 2

Here is the DIY....... https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...tallation.html
