Z pulling to the right TSB. Anyone have this performed on their Z?
has anybody got this fixed yet, mine still pulls after the tsb. Are the 04 models doing this? I read the road and track 350z review that the car had a pull to the right. They said the part was orderd but nothing on if it was fixed or not.
I'm waiting for Nissan to send their "specialist" from Japan to come and work on my Z. IF they can't fix it, they're gonna have to buy the car back, per my request.
The dealer told me that all Z's with prod dates of May 2003 and later don't have this problem. Don't know if I would believe that.

I seriously doubt that Nissan will "buy your car back" as a result of it pulling to the right.

So you think that all of us should be stuck with this problem? It's a manufacturer defect, not anything we did.
If any of you (anyone with a Z that pulls to the right) want to brush it off and pretend like it's no big deal, you're in for a headache in the future. Do what you guys want, but I'm not buying tires every 5000-6000miles.

I guess that would be alright if that's what you want out of it. Me personally I love my Z and I want to keep her. I just want them to fix the problem so I can go an enjoying my car. So what if you don't want them to by it back after the third try? Is there a way of them compensating you for having to keep a DEFECTIVE vehicle?
If it comes down to them having to buy back the car, I'm getting a 2004 Z. As long as I get to test drive it and it drives straight. I love the Z, just don't want one with this defect.
As for your question about compensation, I don't know. They can't make me keep the car, nor do I wanna keep the car in this condition.

The tire wear and the pulling to the right are two different problems. Pulling to the right = minor inconvienence. Tire wear = faulty (bouncy) suspension.

Someone said a few forums down o4 problems that their 2004 pulls to the right. I am begining to think they all do it. I believe that most people do not notice it because either they don't know much about cars or they don't know what to look for. This really sucks because I was planning to get an 05 and sell or trade my 03.
Dr Bonz, if a vehicle is out of alignment (which would cause the car to drift/pull), the tires will not wear evenly, especially up front.
So you are saying that the tire feathering is from a bouncy suspension? Not one of the threads I've read about "tire feathering" mentions anything about a bouncy suspension causing the problem.
We can go back and forth about this issue. This is my car, it has a problem, the manufacturer is obligated to fix it, and the law says they have to, if they cannot, I can request that they buy it back or replace the vehicle. End of story.

I understand what you are saying but all I was pointing out was that the front end alignment per se isn't why the car pulls to the right. Many people have had alignments done and it didn't correct the pulling problem. The "fix" for the pulling problem is replacing the compression rod with a different one from Nissan

IF YOU CONFIRM: The vehicle has a tendency for a constant drift to the right on a straight, flat road at highway speeds. NOTE: A vehicle is said to drift, if the vehicle completes a lane change in less than 7 seconds and with no steering correction from the driver and when driving at 60 mph and all four wheels must pass into the other lane during this time (7 seconds) and while driving on a crown-sloped road of less than 1 percent. ACTIONS: Install the right front suspension compression rod from the Parts Information section of this bulletin. See this bulletin for further details."

Thanks Dr Bonz. Actually, it was you that helped me point the "compression rod" TSB to the dealership (saw your post in a different thread) , but that TSB was done and it didn't fix the problem.
04 Z owners are claiming to have a pull to the right. That isn't good news. I just hope Nissan can fix my problem.

I have an 04 and it's pulling to the right and I also have the seat clunk occasionally. So the 04 isn't the answer. I too love my car and just want them to solve the problem, not buy back my car.
