Default Z pulling to the right TSB. Anyone have this performed on their Z?

Also, does anyone have this TSB. I saw this TSB in a previous thread but cannot find it.

It was about replacing a suspension compression rod. Has anyone had this done to their Z? If so, did it fix the "pulling to the right" problem?

I just had new tires replaced by Nissan but the car still pulls and the tires are going to wear unevenly again. These morons at the dealer don't have a clue and don't give a sh*t, but if they can't fix my problem they're gonna have to buy my car back.

If you have the TSB, please post it so I can show it to the dealer.

I found the TSB and took it to the dealer. The service advisor already printed out the same TSB for the "suspension compression rod" printed from their system and it showed a picture (not a drawing) of the end of the compression rod.

The tech told the SA that the TSB said to replace the rubber cover (small boot) at the end of the rod. I told the SA that that won't fixed the trouble my Z has which is the pull to the right and he agreed. I told him that we should double check with parts to see what the part number is for that is on the TSB. Sure enough it's for the entire compression rod not a samll rubber piece.

He had them order this piece asap so it can be replaced while they are repairing my wheels they scratched.

I hope this helps those that haven't read all the "tire feathering threads."

I'll post an update when I get my Z back later this week.

Yes sir sure did, got my right side compression rod changed out at 1300 miles. Now I am back in the service bay again for tire feathering alignment problems. I suspect I will be in the service bay again the 3rd time for replacing of the tranny, but let's pray and hope not.
I didn't shack out $31,500 for nothing. I will be filing for lemon law buy back if I get another problem.

The compression rod was replaced, but the car still pulls to the right. Sure I can tell the dealer this, will they know what to do? doubt it.

I'll be calling Nissan Monday.

Did they do a 4 wheel alignment AFTER they replaced the rod? I don't think it will work unless you also get this done.

Dr Bonz,

I am getting a wheel alignment on Tuesday for my tire feathering. When they change the compression rod they didn't do an alignment. The car doesn't pull to the right anymore.

Angry PULLING TO THE RIGHT

I've had the same TSB completed but my Z is still pulling to the right. The only different now is, it does a complete lane change in 12 seconds instead of 7. My tech was insisted that it's the front tires. Therefore, they swapped the left and right tires, this didn't fix it. He is still convinced that its the tires so they are ordering two new front tires. HERE WE GO AGAIN !!!

I would think that it would just be common practice to do an alignment after ANY work on the suspension. I would insist on it even though it solved your pulling problem.

I am not a mechanic. Can anyone else confirm this?

They didn't mentioned doing a wheel alignment after the rod install and I totally forgot to ask (I thought about that before I picked it up). I'm calling the dealer this morning to ask. I doubt they did, but I could be wrong. I'm getting sick of this sh*t.

BTW, they've done these repairs in the following order:

-alignment #1

-swap front tires left to right TSB/alignment #2

-alignment #3 (done by a different dealer)

-new tires

-compression rod/alignment #4 EDIT: <----I just called the dealer and yes they did an alignment after rod replacement).]

???????

In between all of this both dealers have manged to scratch my wheels, once while swapping my tires, another during an alignment, and the third time when I got new tires.

I had mine done with the alignment, still drifts to the right. I think the tsb is crap. I wonder how many other z's do it because most drivers are oblivious to problems like this one. Lets see if someone can figure out a cure.

Ive heard that some Euro cars have a very slight pull to one side dialed in from the manufacturer so that it would help keep the driver awake.

Dont know how much truth that bears, but I too have a slight pull to the right on my car which im trying to work the problem out with my dealer at the moment.

Sounds like something a salesperson would say. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard (I know this us just what you heard).

Nissan knows this is a problem, that's why they came out with the TSB(s). This is not normal.

May be time to break out the Lemon Law book.

Unhappy

Well, they have the two front tires on order for me hoping that this will resolve the PULL. Who knows when the tires will be available since they are on back order.

The TSB resolved the problem on my Z along with an alignment. Tires still wear wrong but pull is completely gone. It wasn't subtle, either.

Yeah, I had mine done too but it didn't resolve the problem. When the TSB was done, instead of 7 seconds to do a full lane change like it tells you on the TSB, it did it in 12 seconds.
