Dealership. Too much of a hassle to do it on your own unless you're an expert.

do that^... or get a plastic card (credit card look alike), and cut it into 2 pieces. then slip one in each side and then squeeze and pull.. it should come out.

and if that didn't work, then try hitting the side of it with ur fist.. like couple of punches and it should pop out.

OMG...I never thought of putting down the roids...~ Thank you so much for your help...I have a card that I have been using to get the cup holder out - it could double as a gas tank opener....If I didn't look so good in the car, I would be angry!!!

Do you mean you pushed the button through the dash...like it is hanging out behind the dash now? If so...just put the button back through the dash, and next time don't push so hard. I did the same thing when I first bought my car and just popped it right back in. Easy fix and NOT worth going to the stealership.

Lay down so you can look behind the dash from the floor. You should be able to see it hanging down. Take it, put it back in the hole, and push it back in place.

I was thinking that the release mechanism broke.

Mine has been pushed in since I bought it. I just reach behind it and stabilize to push it when I fill up! Doesn't bother me.
