Default Drivers seat rock fixed

FYI: The dealer fixed my rocking drivers side seat yesterday by installing some kind of special washer (called for in the TSB).
Have not noticed any rocking since (knock on wood).

Do you have the TSB or even the number? I haven't seen it. I need to get my seat fixed.

NTB03076

IF YOU CONFIRM: When tuning left or right, · The driver's seat makes a "click" noise, and/or · The driver's seat moves side to side (left or right), ACTION: · Install special washers between the seat thigh support adjuster and the sliding and reclining device-inner and outer (see Figure 1). See this bulletin for further detail.

Let me share my experience with the loose seat thing.

1. I had previously reported the rocking seat to the dealer (before the NTB came out), but they dismissed it as "normal"

2. I see this email thread: print out the NTB with excitement.

3. I make appointment - explained to service advisor what I was booking for - he said "OK, we'll get the parts in ready, it's only a couple washers"

4. Checked car in today. Service advisor tells me the seat rocking is "normal", there's nothing they can do.

5. I flashed the printout of the NTB. His reply: "that probably won't fix it, but we'll take a look"

6. I get a call a couple hours later. Service advisor: "What seat rocking? We can't find any problem. We are unable to duplicate your complaint". After I INSISTED that they do the NTB, he says that they don't have the parts ("but we'll do it for you as a courtesy"), and I'll have to come back in a week.

Great car, but too many minor niggles. I've had the lot: tires, rattles, grease streaks, etc etc. Dealer totally unsympathetic.

Sorry to hear of your dealer problems.

I have the window streaks (decided to live with it rather than risk the dealer messing things up with the fix) and I have various rattles (also living with it for now). Knock on wood my tires are ok for now.

I fixed the seat rock myself. As I described above, the dealer went through several stages of denial:
1. "They all do that"
2. "The NTB won't work"
3. "Your car's seat doesn't rock"

So I gave up and decided to try myself.

I basically followed the procedure described in the NTB [Nissan Technical Bulletin] earlier in this thread. It took an hour - that included making up my own spacer washers that are described in the NTB. Total cost: 69c for a bag of washers.

It was real easy, try it if you have this problem. Tip: as advised in another thread, cover the door sills to stop the botton of the seat from scratching as you take it in and out of the car.

Result: completely tight. No rocking, no clicking

Wow! That's great.
I had read about other ways to fix it (DIY) as well but my car has side airbags so I was hesitant to touch the seats although I guess that all that is involved is to uncouple the connector ???

Well, I don't have side airbags. The connector is, in my case, just for the "fasten seatbelt" light on the dash. If you have side airbags, I believe you should follow the instructions to the letter, and disconnect the battery first.

Good luck!

Let the dealer do it if you have side air-bags. I let mine do it, and now the seat is solid as a rock, no questions asked.
