i have had an issue occasionally with my ac coming on 'full blast' when completely off....i can hit a small bump and it just comes on...i can also 'bump' the side of the dash and it will come on too.....
SO/////
i recently noticed when replacing the nav/guage trim panel that the white box with the flat cord that goes to the lower panel with the ac controls was NOT mounted to anything at all.....
there was no hardware in there that i could see....and it was obvious that someone that did NOT know what they were doing was in there....
so, my question is, do any of you have any pics of how it is supposed to mount or of the actual hardware....i am sure that this will solve my problem...
thanks!

Two self starting screws are needed to secure the white plastic AC control box to the dash frame. The screws go where the red arrows are in the pic below. You cant see the right side screw because its hidden in this pic by the ribbon cable. Recommend you re-seat all 3 connections in the back of that box.
Also, recommend you disconnect the ribbon cable from the back of the AC controls box that is mounted to the lower console finisher, put in the screws and then reconnect the ribbon cable.

This happened with my friends 03. The ribbon had a bad connection (possibly a tear but it was NOT visible) along one of the wires and it caused the fan to turn on full speed at times due to the lack of a connection. If you go behind there and move the ribbon around you could possibly figure out the problem. Keep in mind when the ribbon is disconnected completely, it will also cause the fan to blow at full speed.

thanks again for the post with the pic....sure helped..although the mounting holes were clearly evident when i removed the lower shifter panel and inspected it closer....
i put 2 screws in the plastic tabs (illustrated by the red arrows in your pic)....one of which was a factory screw that i found amongst the wires and what not in the console space....
there was "nothing" that appeared to be intact for the 2 tabs towards the front of the control unit....
so, i left it alone...
it is working just fine now, as it usually does...i will have to hit a few bumps pretty hard and or hit on the side of the console to see how it reacts...but i am sure that it is fine now....it is definitely secure and not flopping around now!!!
thanks!!!

I'm having the same problem where the AC will blow full blast or doesn't turn on at all. I checked all the conections and everything is plugged in. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone know where I can buy a replacement control box?
