Default got stranded on the side of the road (Diagnosing)

Ok, well today im doing a little spirited driving. A little heavy acceleration in first gear and all of a sudden my power steering goes out in my car and the battery light and the brake light comes on. My Brakes are fine and so is my battery.

We'll i couldn't bring it in to the shop immediately so i decided i would bring it to the shop the next day to see what the issue is. Well, my car decided that it wanted to die and under acceleration the car has absolutely no power. The pedal is all the way depressed to the floor and the car does not move more than about 5mph.

Then the car dies and once i try to restart it ....it will not crank over. Has anyone encountered this problem and any ideas of what may have caused this. I'm personally thinking an electrical problem.

Check your belts.. if it's standard, will it push start?

+1 on the belts. If the alternator is not spinning then the car will use the battery until the battery dies and eventually it will not run or crank over. It probably won't start/run long if it is push started because there is not enough power to create a significant spark. The power steering would go out b/c that pump is on the same belt as the alternator.

Both belts broke!!!! The odds against that seem pretty high.

Inner one broke and took the other one out. At speed its not uncommon. This is about the cheapest thing that could've happened.
