Thumbs up Window Creaking Problem Solved!

Well, I finally had that annoying window creaking noise fixed on my '03 Redline Track. The service manager called me last week and said that NNA finally sent him a TSB on the problem. I had the car in today for the fix and all the stupid window creaking is gone! Finally, after fighting with NNA about this for 3+months they own up to a problem with the car and fix it!

I did a search for this new bulletin and came up with nothing, so I looked on my service receipt for the number. It says 'NTB083-084'. Just thought I would spread the word incase anyone else has this problem and would like to have it fixed.

For your information, what they do is pull the door apart and put some type of Teflon goop on the mechanism. We'll see how long it lasts!

Happy Motoring!

I'm sure this is a fairly widespread problem, at least in the Southwest US. When I was fighting Nissan about this a few months back I went around the lot at my dealership and tested the windows on every car on the lot, and at least half had the annoying window creaking problem. Mine was SO bad that I couldn't even drive down the road with the windows rolled part way down and not hear the sound.

The problem is most people with this problem probably don't know about it, and I don't see the Nissan techinfo website updated with this information. The only way I found out it was the service manager at the dealership was nice enough to call me and tell me about it when it landed on his desk. The dealership owners car was the first to receive the fix, then mine.

Thumbs up

You know, I was just getting annoyed by this for the last two weeks. I'm probably going to leave it alone right now until it's unbearable. Thanks for the info.

Could you please elaborate on the creaking problem? I have some weird window problems, with what sounds like air seeping into the cabin when fully closed and some peculiar mechanical noises when rolling down the windows on a hot day... was wondering if one of these were considered to be a part of the creaking problem.

Well, it's almost like the sound you here when you sit down on a really old rocking chair or something, except higher pitch. My car was making the noise on very bumpy roads with the windows rolled up. It was really bad when opening and closing the doors, and it was also bad when driving with the windows rolled part way down. That's about the best way I know how to describe it. Hope that helps.
