Window Motor...A new spin on an old problem
It sounds from everything that I have researched, (and I have read the EVERY PAGE of VO's sticky about this) no matter what, this is only a temporary fix. Replace OR clean.....its gonna fail again
. Does anyone know if a window motor from another Nissan product would work (and not just for a short time) ???
I just figured since everyone has seems to agree that its just an engineering problem, that possibly another, better engineered motor would work???
I would imagine it may take some ingenuity, but common, its gotta be better than cleaning and/or replacing the motor every year.

Ok, so the dealership said their part number is the same for 2003-2008...so I guess that sounds like its more of a case of the luck of the draw???....

***Update
Spoke to the service/parts department at a few of the local dealerships. They seem to believe that there would be no way to put in any window motor from another year or nissan model (including something other than the 350Z). So now the question is...does anyone in here think it can be done???

Common guys! Help a brotha out! I need some input on the idea of replacing a Z window motor with a window motor from some other Nissan vehicle???
Like I said, I know it would take some fabrication, but the hassel of putting it in would be much better than having to replace the stock window motor every year
Its driving me crazy to have to go in to get my Big Mac and dont even get me started on paying tolls!!!!

I can not find the thread at the moment (at work), if I do I'll send it to you. A guy did replace the guts of the motor with parts from an Alitma. The only oddities he posted were that the auto up did not work, and when he would close the door instead of lowering the windows an eigth of an inch, it would drop two inches then go back up. This did require a good bit of work and unless you're comfortable with medium difficulty electronics work I wouldn't try it. If it were me, I'd find a junkyard that has an 06 + in it and get the window motors out of it. If not locally you may be able to find a place online.
