Default Mobile One Extended Performance 15k mile oil

So about 7k miles ago I put a K&N oil filter on my car, and put some of the mobile one extended performance oil in which is supposed to last 15k miles. Is this safe for the Z? Will it really be good for the whole 15k miles? (filter included)? I'm kind of worried.

Ive read the filter is more important than the oil as long as you don't see oil temperatures peaking too high when you drive. I'm going to say from what I've seen onlien and read, the oil is fine as long asa you keep the oil level safe, and change the filter ever 5k miles.

How can I change just the filter without draining all the oil?

Why would you be so cheap?

Change it every 3000 miles. This isn't an econobox.

As long as your oil level is full then you should be fine until at least 10K EP has a decent add pack, but I would verify that by doing a UOA @ 7500 mi and reading the TBN. On my 350 I ran Syntec w/Nissan filter for 7.5K with 3.97 TBN left after that which tells me it would be good for 10K+. When it comes to your engine dont believe the hype, or as Ronnie used to say: "Trust but verify".

I would say 7500 is max, but I feel comfortable at 5000 with good oil and filter under normal conditions.

Think with your dipstick, Jimmeh! J/K. Don't do 15k miles before an oil change.
