Just got my Z a few weeks ago, and the oddest thing happend to me last night. So I was on my home and happened to glance at my odo and it read 66665, as it ticked over to 66666 my service engine light came on. Funny thing is my friend who bought an S2K same time as me had his light go on earlier that day...

Anyways they scanned the car and the code P0442 came up twice. They are telling me to just clear it and forget about it....so should I do this?? Will it hurt anything, and what exactly is it??

 

P0442 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak)

 

If you have a small EVAP leak, the light will come back. Make sure your gas cap is tight, it'll throw on the light for this code as well.
