Default stange battery/altenator problem

So the other day my 06 z wouldn't start up. Figured my car is almost 4 years old and prob needs a new battery. Bought a new battery and bam started up fine. Didnt drive the car for maybe 20 hrs and today the battery is completely dead. No volts or nothing. Jumped it several times and every time i jump it it will start and after I disconnect it dies within 10-20 seconds. So im thinking maybe my alt is bad. Problem is something is draining it big time while car is off. I do have a couple gauges, alarm, and a stereo system but i unhooked the power cable to the battery for the stereo system on a couple tries and no difference. Also noticed radio wont come on when it was running. Im confused.. Thinking maybe a major short somewhere or something

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated

You have a short somewhere, but your alternator is probably not bad. If the drain completely drained the old battery, even if the alternator works fine it still won't recharge your battery. Did you recently install anything?

NO everything i have (which is a good bit) has been on for like 1 1/2 years. Hmm now to figure out how to go about finding this short.
