Haven't found za downside yet and have used them on five different vehicles, including my Z. One less set of tools to have to use to drain and whole lot less messy considering no drain plug to fall in oil-I use one with nipple end and run plastic tube into drain pan for very little mess.

I have my magnetic plug and I'd like to keep that so I can see any metal shavings in my oil, but if its not a big deal than it looks like a good idea.

Seen them but don't trust them. The OEM plug is just a simple plug and washer. Simple is best for me.

Used one just like the Regular model on my old RX7 and it worked great. Fumoto actually sounds very familiar.

been using them on my cars for years now...zero issues. Especially useful on aftermarket oil pans, which all are aluminum. Thread it once, never worry about it again

Can those who have it on the Z comment on the model number? It's f-103 right?

Here is another alternative made by Fram. I have used this on several different cars and never had a problem.

I doubt the link would lie to you... seems like Nissan has used the same thread since 1983...

Including: Altima, Sentra, Maxima, 350Z, Murano, Pathfinder, Armada, Fronteer, Titan, Rogue, Versa, Cube and etc.

Anyways it looks like a safe reliable design with the lever sort of detented in so it can't accidently be hit by debris. It would still be nice to have a small cotter pin in there or something that had to be pulled in order to move the lever out of the closed position. I'm going to pick one up over the winter to install when I do my oil change in the spring... I friggin hate when the drain plug falls into the oil, and then to top it off the wind picks up and starts blowing the little streem of oil all over the place. The fitting with the nipple for a hose is a great idea!

got one and its the best investment! I can even change oil in jeans and white shirt... no mess at all. No worry about running to dealership for new washer, no worry of hot oil spill on your hand, no worry of bolt too tight and need to find a hammer, etc....
