Default missing then not whats up

so i took my car in about 500 miles ago while it was there they replaced the plugs car ran great for the first 500 miles then out of no where it started mising like one cylinder was not firing ses light came on then started flashing then back to solid started the car next day and ran fine ses still on solid then had the same problem for about 30 seconds several times through out the day but is fine now. any ideas why it would come and go? when coil packs fail to they wear out slowly like this? it has been my experoence that they fail and stop working all together. i will double check that they are all seated correctly but that dosnt seem like it would be the case. i would appreciate any ideas or thoughts

Well, the first step is to have the code pulled. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. I am almost certain you are getting a P0300 multiple/random misfire code if your CEL is flashing. DO NOT drive your car if you are getting a flashing CEL if you can help it. This means that a lot of unburned fuel is being dumped into your cats and will destroy them pretty quickly. Most likely a coil has gone bad or come unplugged, but it could be a range of things causing this such as a vaccuum leak. In any case, the next step is to PULL THE CODE and let us know what it is.

well im stationed in germany andim wondering if cold weather could have been an issue i know its unlikely but the ses cleard it self and no more misfire unfortunatly i dont speak german and it takes a few days of research for me to find any type of shopwhere i can take my car and i deploy in 4 days so it looks like it will have to wait another thing is i dont think the plugs they ordered were plainum tip like the dealer recomends so i will probably replace them as soon as i get back thanks for the help i also have berk hfc are they more subject to being damaged by the extra fuel not being burned its seems the opposite would be true?
