Service Engine Light ON after Accident??
I have a 2003 Nissan 350Z, and 2 months ago i got cut off by a huge fedex truck at 10 miles an hour, and messed up the whole left side of the car and pushed the car over the curb causing it to break the control arm/hub on the front/right wheel. Anyways after having it repaired and fixing the wheel, the engine light has come up. I went and had it checked and they said it was the air flow sensor. Could it have been the impact from the accident to cause the service light to come on?? My mechanic recommended to drive for awhile and see if it comes off. What do you guys think? Any help will be appreciated... What can i do to fix this without have to pay hundreds of dollars to get it fixed by a dealer/mechanic.
The impact could have damaged it or it could just be a coincidence. Do you know what the exact code was?
You can always try buying a used MAF sensor from somebody here and see if that solves the problem.
Otherwise, without knowing the exact code it's throwing you'd just be guessing and randomly replacing parts which will cost you more than a few hundred dollars.
