Default [SOLVED] Huge/Deep Puddle = Electrical Issues :(

Hi guys,

I think my Z is toast. For those of you living in Southern California, you know how much it's been raining the past couple of weeks. Well, I ran into a really deep puddle and I have an AEM Cold Air Intake .

So of course, engine dies and my dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree. I thought it was over for sure. I was in complete panic and didn't really know what to do so I pulled over and tried starting the car again (which I learned is a bad idea when you think your engine has sucked up water). To my amazement, it cranks up and sounds fine. However, here I am with a dashboard full of lights, Brake, VDC, SLIP all on. My tachometer/spedometer/headlights/radiator fans all turn on and off randomly at the same time...wtf.

Is something being grounded/shorted? Is this purely an electrical issue? Honestly I don't even know where the hell to start .... I don't think it's my throttle position sensor since the car doesn't go into limp mode, which wouldn't allow me to accelerate. I'm able to accelerate though (I haven't tried extreme acceleration into the 4-5-6000's. Help please

Damn that sucks...out here there was so many places flooded last week, there was no way I would even drive my Z in that weather. With that said I would have the dealer/reputable shop look at your Z, until then do not drive the car.

I couldn't believe it myself... but after letting the car sit out in the sun for about 3-4 days, I started it and everything turned on as if nothing happened

No lights, no engine knocking, no electrical issues, no SES light, nothing. Purrs like a kitten. I got really lucky
