^^ Your battery should have "some kind of liquid in it" unless it is a dry cell battery.
If the battery has gone bad, one or more of of the cells will register poorly.
It sounds from your report you have a bad cell (or at least "the guy said i have a bad cell cuz my battery smells like rotten egg").
BTW: You cannot accurately judge a battery's condition on it's smell. To evaluate the battery, you need to use an instrument designed to read the battery's output and its condition.

Autozone tests batteries - assuming the guy there did that, and he told you a cell was bad, then you need to replace the battery.
If you're afraid to open the caps - then definitely replace the battery. It's not something you need to be fooling with if you don't know what you're doing. The acid inside the battery can hurt you in so many ways.

^^ That’s great advice. My first practice was in a clinic where I shared space with physicians. I was surprised and startled at how many times people where severely injured messing with car and boat batteries.
The usual scenario was a battery that appeared “dead.” Someone would be bent over looking at the top of the battery, loosen a cap, and BANG! The bad cell in the battery sprayed acid onto the person’s face, and often into their eyes. It isn’t pretty.
I never mess with any battery (good or bad) unless I am wearing eye protection.
