So I have been having issues with 5th gear grinding and 3 other buddies that have hr cars have experience the same issue here in Orlando. In order for them to get me a new trans they charged me for a slave and Master cylinder.... plus labor. I am now starting to wonder if it is more then just the CSC. I am on my 3rd trans and so is the other buddy of mine.. Anymore input please.

 

damn, i did all the recall work, pretty sure im having some sort of issue. when the tranny is cold its LOUD! I mean sounds like its under A LOT of strain.

As for grinds I have non, but this past 2 months Its been getting hard to get it into 2nd.

My 03 SpecV did the same thing with 3rd gear, but that was a sycro.

 

i had 6th gear grind twice on me, got 2 new tranny's, this one has been good for over 20k now

 

my tranny was just replaced at 24k if your having any probs i'd take it in, that damn slave cylinder has got to be the problem

 

What trans code do you guys have cause I have had my cd009 in my Z for a while now and my cars been boosted and tracked and never had any issue with grinding.

 

'07 HR with 30k miles. zero tranny issues. come to think of it, zero issues whatsoever.

 

i have a 07 and only when the car first turned on and driven is when i get the 5th gear grind, only when i downshift into fifth not going into it. Idk it strange but i have the csc issue but stealership wont honor it.

 

I'm getting the same thing with 5th. I'm on my second trans, and I get a grinding sound only when coming out of 5th. I want to get it checked, but the Dealerships in this area wont fix modded cars

i had the exact same problem i have 52,000 miles when it started to happen. i swapped the oem fluid to redline mtl and it went away havent had a problem since current mileage is 56,323

 

Two Dealership here in orlando tried telling me they would void my stuff but they can't the only thing they can void is if the modification is directly the problem that is causing you to come in for warranty work. They can't void your power train warranty over that.

I am modded and they gave me a hard time went to another dealership but they also sell alot of nismo stuff and are kind of a performance dealership. I had to buy a new slave and master cylinder and then they warrantied my trans. I am on trans number 3 and have 50,760.

 

Thanks. I know about the Mag/Moss thing, but they just refuse. There is a dealership a few hours away in Myrtle Beach that I can go to. They get mad when you don't let them do the installs of whatever you do to your car. I'm going to try to get down there to get them to do the work.

 

37k miles and my trans grinds when down shifting 6 to 5 quickly (only once in a while, mostly when cold), i have been very disappointed in my Z. between the inferior black coating on some of the interior parts, paint durability/quality, mysterious serpentine belt/pulley gremlin, a plethora of strange noises, and now this trans issue - i really regret my purchase sometimes

 

Yeah I agree with you on the interior. The sad thing is I know people that tried many different ways to touch up the interior and nothing works.

I'mm hooping that the trans issue is only a cold weather thing.

 

I only drive my car on the weekends and rarely in the winter since last june. So she only has 16k miles. But hearing all this scares me honestly.

 

Tranny replaced before 15k. Gear niose and grinding 5th AND 6th. I'm at 48k now with no new issues.

 

I have the same problem and it started for me under 10k

 

5th gear will occasionally grind on me. 08 base Z with only 20,080 miles. i first noticed the grinding at about 13-14K miles.

i hate that sound, kinda hurts my soul.
