Default fuel filler hose....

so basically like a few others on the forums my gas is leaking about about 7.5gallons basically half way, after research and a trip to my buddies shop we determined it most likely is the fuel filler hose.... with that being said the only way to know 100% sure is to drop the tank correct? is there anything else i can check before i under go this lenghty process and/or pay someone to do it for me.... i went to the dealership the other day and the turd told me that the recall was already once performed in 06... and that i would be charged an 80 dollar dyno. fee + labor and parts of the hose.... anyone else find that a lil wishy washy.... .well thanks!

I had the gas filler hose recall done to a 350Z. Believe it was to eliminate a potential explosion - not any leak. Still, a gas tank only has few places for a possible leak. Metal-to-metal seam leaks are possible but not probable. Good luck.
