WTF- Car alarm going off when I open door.
So today, I was going to head home after an getting grub. I go to enter the car (windows open, unlocked) and the car starts to go off. Alarm is going off and my headlights keep flashing the highbeams and probably the both the turn signals too.
like wtf? I had no issues earlier today when I drove the car to work and what not. it stopped crying after 30-60 seconds which feels like a lifetime. i couldn't "deactivate" it by locking/unlocking. Yes, I even started the car and the weird thing it was going off with the car on. WTF?
We get home and once again, soon as we open the doors to get out (didn't even turn the car off), the alarms/lights go off like crazy. Nothing I could do would stop it. It stopped after a bit.
I would love to hear feedback from anyone on the issue. I could take it to get its code read to see if anything is spitting out. The only thing I can think is that there are groundhogs in the area that like to come under the car and hang out. I've had one incident a few years back where some wiring was chewed up and it cost me $300 to fix. I am guessing I might have another chewed up wire that will cost me to fix.
Anyone know a good rodent exterminator? arrg.
I'll keep you guys posted. I will have to take it to the dealership to have it looked at.

do you mean with the physical key and not the key remote fob?
I haven't tried to unlock it with the physical key..but I will say that after I unlock the car, open the door, (alarm starts going off) and start the car the alarm is still going off.
