Arrow Over heating on 04' Z

I've had my 04’ Z for about a year. The cooling fan only used to turn on when I turned on the A/C and every once in a while.

Four days ago it started turning on almost immediately after I turn on the car.

Yesterday, the temperature gauge began creeping up, well on its way to overheating, only after 20 minutes of driving on the freeway.

Today, I changed the radiator fluid. Five minutes later the cooling fan kicked in again and stayed on. After a 20 minute drive to work at about 70mph, the temperature gauge started creeping past the half-way mark.

Could you guys confirm the following necessary steps and their oder?
1.Change the thermostat
2.Bleed the system

Anything else I might have missed?

Thanks-

Welcome. 9 out of 10 times the problem is the thermostat. Fresh coolant will not fix a broken thermostat.

Nissan had a recall on the fans.. they extended my warranty to 80k and replaced them free of charge. Call your dealer and see if you qualify.

You have two fans. They both should run when the air conditioner is on.

(I just had a faulty one replaced for free)
