Should I get an extended warranty?
I am the original owner of a 2004 350z. I currently have just under 80k miles on the car and I have planned to keep it until at least 160k miles. In the last year I have had several repairs done, including a new motor for my window, and oxygen sensor and a catalytic converter. Now my A/C is on the fritz and I don't know what's wrong with it. Having said that, should I purchase a warranty for my car from Nation Warranty. They are one of the most respected warranty companies in the business. They have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. They have an "Any Year/Any mileage" warranty that gives you 5 years or 100,000 additional miles. However, it covers "mechanical breakdowns" obviously, and not "wear and tear." I just don't want to get screwed by them after I need something repaired and they refuse to cover it for whatever reason. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
they have different levels of warranty, where on one level they won't repair the clutch assembly. of course i don't remember ever specifically buying a lower package. i thought i was buying the only available package.
This link shows what it covers and what it doesn't cover. The only warranty that I am eligible for is the 'Medallion Elite' one. There are a lot of things that it doesn't care. It is about $2,200. It doesn't look like it's worth it.

How are your DIY skills? There are many, many things you can fix yourself. I wasted $1600 on my extended, not a thing went wrong. At this point I would attempt to fix 95% of the things that would break on my z, everything short of deep internal engine parts failure, it all depends on how much work you are willing to do.
