Default tach gets stuck

hey Z owners iv had my 05 z rodster for a lil over a year and never in that time have i experienced this. i was at a stop light and had the clutch down in gear, as i took off and changed into second i noticed the tach was stuck at at a lil under 3 rpm's. to my surprise as the tach was stuck the gears were shifting a whole lot smoother! eventualy after a lil hesitation it went back into place and the extra smooth gear shifting was gone. Now im the type of persone who can maintenance my own ride but aside from that im lost and have no clue about trannies. i made an appointment at a local aamco this next weekend.
does anyone know what im lookin at?

:iv never had trannie problems and i dont abuse my ride
