Default Urgent help!!

So I'm sitting here in a parking lot, car not starting. Here's what happened. I have an 03.

The car was working fine all day. I walk out to open it, and they key fob wasn't opening the car. So I walk to cvs and buy a new battery, since I had notices it was getting a bit weak lately. Changed the battery and still won't open, so I use the actual key. I got to start the car, and it just cranks and cranks but won't start... I tried resetting me ECU as well as reprogramming the key fob, and nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong and what I can do??

Thanks

cam sensors on either head
crank sensor (on trans tunnel)
both are common reasons it would not start

If it wants to turn over and is not, i wonder if the spark plugs are bad, it sounds very un-common but i had a buddy in a 93 TT supra that had the same issue battery and alternator were fine, but all the spark plugs were shot.

Sounds like the transponder (little chip) built into your key is not registering with the one in your ignition. Not a common problem, but sounds likely in your case. Do you have a spare key anywhere near?

I'm not saying this to be a smart ***, but do you have gas in the car. The gas gauges are sometimes wacked and it shows you have gas when you don't. I had a guy trailer his car to my old shop with the same exact problem, put gas in it and voila

lol yea the car has gas.

I actually got it started! I disconnected the battery for about 10-15 minutes, gave it another shot, and it started right up. I haven't had any more problems with it today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't happen again. Really strange though, it's almost as if the ECU freaked out and then reset itself with the battery disconnect.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Yea that's why I gave it a try. I just don't know what may have caused the problem in the first place. I think it was an issue with the anti theft system, as I didn't use the key fob to get in the car. Oh well, everything solved now.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I had to have a new key reprogrammed. If you have the spare key it will fix the problem.
