Could someone explain Tire Cupping and Feather in laymans terms or with pics
SORRY. I have read MANY posts and still don't understand Tire Feathering (which is really related to a crappy suspension that Nissan won't acknowledge?). And Tire Cupping?
In a nutshell I want to dump my piece of crap Track and want to have all TSB's done and get new tires. I have 6K miles and my car still pulls to the right even after the supposed TSB alignment.
THANKS.

The inside tread of your two front tires are wearing unevenly.
If you are squatting in front of your DRIVERS side front wheel (with the steering wheel turned to the left so you can see the contact surface of the tire). Run you hand along this innermost tread pattern in a clockwise direction (i.e. toward the rear of the car) and it will feel rough.
Now do the same thing but this time run your hand in a counter clockwise direction (i.e. toward the front of the car) and it will feel smooth. The best analogy I have seen written (sorry but I can't remember who wrote it) said that it feels like petting a cat backward toward his tail (feels smooth) and then toward his front and against the grain (feels rough).

Sounds good Doc, What happened to that little green model car you used to use for the rotation TSB demo...I liked that one...That was you right?
Think of the tire tread looked at from the side to look like saw teeth /] /] /] instead of the flat [] [] [] blocks
Put it this way, if the tread looks even and flat on the inside and the same as the outside you're probably OK...

basically the tires are wearing unevenly due to faulty lower control arm. New TSB out i believe.

They now saying the problem is caused by an error in the lower control arm?!?! When did this 'new' TSB come out and what are the details of the fix? Do they just rotate tires or do they actually replace/modify the control arm?
