transgo help
After getting my transgo installed in drive it seems to be very lazy, if im driving and then decided to floor it or speed up before it would automatically downshift quickly but after kit was installed it would accelerate but bogged down in the same gear then 3-4 seconds later it will down shift.. I also one time floored it from 62 mph and it tried to jump all the way down to second gear (cuts off around 60mph) and it automatically put me into the safety mode (or rev limiter for autos) and wouldnt shift. I want to know if this is programable or if everyone with transgo deals with this?? It works perfectly fine in tiptronic but under drive its a mess.
Thanks guys

That doesn't sound right at all. First I would check the fluid just to be sure, many auto trans problems end up being fluid related. If that checks out you may want to get it somewhere that can connect with a scan tool and check the computer for trans. codes.
if there were codes wouldnt the A/t light come up on the speedo ? but im gonna have it checked out soon
Sounds like the installer misplaced the check valve *****. There are 8 when the two halves come apart, 5 unloaded (no springs) 3 loaded (1 loaded in the center, 1 on the shift side, 1 untouched and held in by a plate and bolt. I would presume one of the 5 is missing OR the center (or even the shift side) check ball was installed with the spring sitting side ways instead of properly up and down with the ball on top of it. This is fixable if you are fortunate that this was the ONLY mistake.
However... the worse thing that can could of happen is the installer drilled out the wrong holes on the body separator plate.... I know of a newbie installer that did this and bought a new transmission after because you cannot obtain these valvebodies by themselves.
misplacing the colored springs on the right side won't cause this.. it just won't shift harder. misplacing new replacement valves on the left side.. is not possible because they don't fit anywhere else. though they can be installed wrong if the spring was backwards and the center load spring was not removed as stated in the instructions...
at this point you have no choice, you have to pull this all apart and inspected by someone that done this kit before.
*low fluid causes high revving and clunky shifting regardless if in tiptronic or full auto mode. it also destroys your clutchbands because not enough pressure to hold the gears from slipping (due to not enough fluid to build the pressure)
