Default Need help price negotiating

Listen guys, I have a girlfriend who is interested in buying a 350Z Touring with the following specs.

Touring
Daytona Blue
Aero Package
Mudflaps
Manual tranny

Some of the local dealerships around here are saying "no negotiation" about the '04s. I just can't believe they are still going for MSRP. I live in NC.

My question is this: How much below MSRP should she be paying?
I bought mine a year ago when it was "no negotiation time" so I have no point of reference.

Also, to any nearish dealerships out there:
Do you have this car ready to roll for this weekend?
PM me and make us an offer.

It's her birthday this weekend and she wants one.

To give you an idea, I purchased my Performance 03 model for about 30K and it had a MSRP of 34,500. All I did was jump on Nissan's website, email all the dealerships within 100 miles, and played price war

If you tell them you're purchasing within X days and you give them specifics on the model, they should shoot you a number. Some dealers will only quote in person, but most of them will do it online. Once you start receiving bids, visit the 3 closest dealers, and have them undercut the competitor. THEY WILL BARGAIN!

The only dealers that will not bargain are the Infiniti dealers (G35 Sport Coupe) since they have protected territories and there's so few dealers.

Hope that helps. Happy hunting.

She's nuts to be buying a 350Z right now. If she buys one now chances are that she will get the same tire eating crappy suspension that we got and have to deal with that. If she really wants one then she should wait for an '05 with the new suspension in it. Of course by then that new Stang is going to be very tempting provided they put some kind of decent suspension in it to go with that V8. For a dealer to be insisting upon sticker for a car that could easily be described as a "lemon" is laughable.

I know. I know. But she just couldn't wait. I will help her as much as I can with any issues she has.

My car was suffering badly from the tire feathering but I had the dealer do a free alignment and I swapped the tires out for T1-S. The T1-S (like the Goodyear Eagle) have an unusual tread pattern. The feathering is 90% gone. And even the little bit that is there, isn't audibly noticeable unless there's two people in the car. It's a major improvement over the RE040s.

Either I got lucky (so far) or the T1-S is the way to go.

These tires have been to hell and back on race tracks. And I have around 8,000 highway miles on them.

I will definitely be buying another set. Maybe for Amanda's car too.
