Default 2 kinds of OEM air filter?

Went to Mossy Nissan to pick up an OE air filter today, when i open the box, i noticed that the new air filter i got seems to be made from different material then the old air filter that came in the car.
Both are paper type, but the old one is red-orange in color and is "oily"(after running my finger though the paper media. the new air filter is white and is dry(not oily).. I presume the old one is a JDM air filter. Any idea?

This is the original air filter that came with the car

I think you are right.
The new filter I picked up is identical to yours.
I like the original better.
Seems higher quality.

The OEM one is very similar to the one that is tagged Nismo.

The old (red) filter has been cleaned with a brush before i took the picture. Actually, it still looks dirty afterward, but i guess the my digital camera didn't pick up all the dirt that is still stuck on it. As some of you may know, there was a recent firestorm in Southern California. I have to drive my car to work daily with all the ash in the air and when i examined the filter last week, it was obvious that the stock filter kept a bunch of ash from getting into mt intake
