Body Control Module caught fire
Went through an automated car wash for the first time yesterday in my 03 Z, It wouldn't start after the wash finished, just turned over fast and remote door locks wouldn't work and no window power either. After 2 hours of fiddling around pulled out conections to BCM and found moisture in it. Dried them off and Z started so took off home, pulled BCM out and dried it with wifes hairdrier. put it back in this arvo and all worked perfectly for about a minute and then all hell broke loose. Indicators and dash goes mental then smoke starts pissing out of BCM.
So any ways, what's the proceedure once i get a replacement??? Any help would be apreciated.

damn that really sucks ***.
i'd contact a local nissan dealership and have them install and replace a new module. That way it is warrantied for 12 mo / 12k miles just to sort out any other bugs.

After replacement the keys would all need to be matched...dealer unless you have the equipment...and the Nissan supercode decoded for the new bcm.
I have seen used bcms for sale for 50 to 100 usd.

Thanks Fellas, I've tried to source a second hand unit in Aus but they're as rare as rockin horse s#*t. A new unit will cost $561 and another $120 to get the keys coded plus i have to get my Z towed to a Nissan dealer. It looks like i'll have to wait a couple of weeks before the finances will allow for me to get it going again. Bummer
