Default Problems from new exhaust?

As my mod list shows, i recently had a custom true dual exhaust installed. Since the install (2 1/2 months and 2000 miles ago), i have noticed two things i didn't notice before.

1. rough idle and exhaust "burp". while at idle, the tach needle bounces up and down every few seconds and i can hear and feel the rough idle consistent with the needle bounce. when outside of the car, i can hear the exhaust burps which more than likely coincide with the rough idle periods.

2. exhaust tips full of black carbon deposits. much more so than with my stock exhaust. i still have it and compared them, really not even close.

therefore, my question is could my new exhaust have produced some kind of overly rich situation and produce the above situations? any help you guys can offer is, as always, greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Generally speaking, making the exhaust side more free flowing will cause you to run richer while making the intake side of things more free flowing will cause you to run leaner.
