Default engine code p2a00

i got a trouble code that keep comin on. ive researched alot and even went on all data to see if it could help me try to fix it. the code has to do with the air/fuel ration sensors. they act like o2s but they are not.wen i did the test procedure on all data it diddnt work. the light like to come on in hot humid weather and when it rains. so i figured something with the electrical. i dont know. would really appreaciate some help.

Search the forums. Type in that code in the search bar. A bunch of threads should come up. Is your car modified?

this is a *itch code. It could be an exhaust leak, intake leak, injectors, or something with your O2 or its harness.

Try the obvious:
check for cracked TP/HFC (most common)
check for exhaust leaks between cat and exhaust manifold (second most common)
check for exhaust leak between block and exhaust manifold (not very common unless you recently replaced your headers)
check for exhaust leak between cat and y pipe (will most likely trip P0420 at the same time)
check for intake leak( data log to see what your MAFs are reading)
check for faulty primary and secondary O2( easiest way is to switch the sensors and see if it trips the other side)
check for faulty MAF (data log to see what your MAFs are reading)

Crazier things to check
O2 harness (bust out the multimeter)
Injectors (have fun with this one)

So I had a shop quote me 375 to replace the A/F sensor, which I've already had replaced once by a shop down the street... which I'm never going to again because the guy got my car stuck on the lift while he was trying to drive it up... ****ing retard... light came back on after the sensor was replaced, and now this 2nd shop is telling me to replace the sensor with a higher quality one. 1. Is this shop just trying to hassle me into spending more money then I need to. 2. What kind of warranty should I look into with the shop if the code keeps coming back? 3. Are there steps the shop should take to diagnose why the code is coming up? Should they test the plugs, coils before I have them replace the A/F sensor AGAIN?

anyone got update for this issue? My car recently pop this code. Here's the weird thing, I used to pump Chevron gas exclusively and one day this code came on. So i tried to pump another brand of gas and voila, the code is gone. It was gone for about 2 months then it came back on now.

I took it to a shop and they said I need to replace my O2 sensor, sensor 1. That's not the one at the catalytic converter isn't it? I'm running Berk HFC with HKS catback, JWT pop charger and UpRev tuned.
