TPMS Sensor Question
Okay, long story short, one of my wheels got damaged last season, got a new one, the knuckleheads at the tire shop had a heck of a time getting the tire off the old rim and had difficulty mounting the pressure sensor in the new wheel as well.
Driving around one day last week with the windows down, I come to a stop and hear a bit of a "clank" coming from the passenger side front (the wheel that had been replaced). Upon accelerating a hear the clank again and I'm 95% certain it is the pressure sensor bouncing around inside the wheel. Shortly after hearing this the low pressure light came on, so to me it's obvious.
I'm heading back to the shop this afternoon, and my question is, will the sensor still be okay to remount it? I've driven maybe 40 miles with it loose. It doesn't seem to bounce around at speeds 20mph+ I'm guessing because the rotation keeps it in one place. But if that were the case I would think it would start reading again and the light would go off... I don't know how much abuse those things can take, but I'm hoping the sensor still works okay and just needs to be mounted back onto the little bracket of my valve stems. Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

Obviously, since the sensor is still inside the tire and can't be seen, theres no way to know the damage to the sensor, if any. These sensors are not hard to work with or service at all, so go to a better shop that won't have "difficulty" mounting them and have them see what the problem is. New sensors are a couple hundred $$ new. You might find a good deal in the marketplace.
