car screeching at startup
Hey guys i get the car screeching at startup and also when i drive it when its cold. It seems like after its warmed up it goes away! I took off all the belts and started the car to see if its the pulleys or belts but it still happened! any ideas guys?

Power steering is belt-driven, so forget that, since it happens with the belts off.
Does the noise seem to be coming from the front or from the back of the engine?
How many miles on the car?
MT or AT?
How's the oil pressure at startup and once it's warmed up?
Video would help.

hmm, i guess the only thing i would ever describe as a screech would be a belt. Try using some other descriptive words or get an audio clip.
If it was cams it would be a metal on metal and i would consider it more of a high pitch grinding metal sound. That's the only thing (crank or cams) that would be spinning and could cause something even closely resembles a screech.
