Hows the teeth on the belts? Is the pulley wet? Did you try using belt dressing?

Does it also clunk at start up? If so, could be low on oil.

umm, don't take the belts off. It's a belt slipping. Put them on and tighten them.

there aren't teeth on serpentine belts and you DO NOT use belt dressing on serpentine belts (only old school v-belts)

The sound you describe sounds like a classic belt sound. I would check your power steering fluid and your transmission if you have an automatic.

Power steering is belt-driven, so forget that, since it happens with the belts off.

Does the noise seem to be coming from the front or from the back of the engine?

How many miles on the car?

MT or AT?

How's the oil pressure at startup and once it's warmed up?

Video would help.

hmm, i guess the only thing i would ever describe as a screech would be a belt. Try using some other descriptive words or get an audio clip.

If it was cams it would be a metal on metal and i would consider it more of a high pitch grinding metal sound. That's the only thing (crank or cams) that would be spinning and could cause something even closely resembles a screech.

no worries. I crosses my mind when someone says that too because i use it on my lawn mower belts. I just didn't want a non-car guy to accidentally ruin a belt.

It seems like its coming from the front passenger side. The car is an AT with 50k miles on it..

What part of

"I took off all the belts and started the car to see if its the pulleys or belts but it still happened!"

is so difficult to understand?
