2003 350Z Stalls during day driving
yes def lemme kno if u need help, u part of the z club of florida? if not check out zclubofflorida.net, i hate that forum so im never on it cuz its boring lol the club and people are awesome tho. what kind of intake was it? hopefully its fixed
Hope this is your problem. It seems as if the cars A/F ratio is thrown off with the CAI getting a lot of hot air. My ratios were off pretty bad(dad has a scanner). I will be doing a tune up on the car when I get back from vacation, as I just rolled 103K.
Do you know Pam and Nikki and Justin?
No, I'm not a part of that site, but I have seen the fb page they have. I'll def check it out though....thanks for the info. It's a Stillen CAI, nothing special (http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/11-2958). I'm hoping so too!
I'm thinking your suggestion did it man! It makes TOTAL sense. The air has been musky as hell and extremely hot. Nice...enjoy the rest of your vacay :-)
seems like you got it fixed, but i had this same issue of stalling during the day, and i could stop for a little bit and it would run again. but my issue was the fuel pump overheating and failing.
hope its fixed now, but its weird that an intake can cause such problems especially a popular name brand, i have a feeling theres more to it but i hope not. if it was just the intake, threads like this one would b more common. yea check out the site , introduce yourself and come out to the meets and get togetheres, a few of us usually hit the track in bradenton on thursdays but its been too hot for that lately
Well, I drove home at the usual time from work, and the car worked perfectly. I'll give it a few more days of driving without problems before I get too excited, but it seems the CAI was the culprit :-)
I have to admit though, I'm already missing the growl it makes when I get on it lol

If I have the problem again after putting back on the stock air filter, I'll def have the fuel pump checked out.

+100 - I love my Florida peeps!
Definitely keep us updated if everything stays happy with the stock airbox, OP.
Cridda, that's a great catch. I guess with this insane heat that we've had, it's causing some abnormal/unnexpected results.
