Yes, I did a search.
So I've had this popping feel/sound in my clutch pedal for several weeks. It seems to be more obvious after the car has warmed up and driven for a bit. By "pop" I mean I can feel it when the pedal is closer to the floor in it's travel. I can hear it too.
So I had the car on racks at my local import shop and they were just as perplexed about it as me. When the car was up one tech was in the car pushing in the pedal and the other was beneath the car. They pulled me over to listen and it could be heard INSIDE the transmission housing itself. "click" "click" "click" each time the clutch pedal was pushed to the floor.
I initially thought the click/pop was the pedal assembly as I read in my search that someone had this issue but from the main spring in the assembly. This is now an internal issue and not a simple spring in the pedal assembly.
My shifting has gotten a bit rough lately. It's not so easy to put it into gear. It's not hard to, it just seems like sometimes it needs to be coaxed in a bit more sometimes than others. Also my overall performance seems to have lessened of late based on my butt dyno but this may be due to other issues due to the spark plug seal issue that is common in the DE. I've discussed that here... https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance...ite-smoke.html
Anyway, all input is welcome and thanks for reading.

I hear a pop only when I let go of the clutch too fast. I hear it too. Just release it a bit smoother. Shifting is the same. Sometimes I get a smooth shift and sometimes it's a little notchy. As many people will say, this trans is not an s2k's trans. It's just something we all have to live with. Even when I heel and toe, sometimes it's still a bit notchy and other times it's smooth as butter. Good luck.
ive had this clutch pop and it weas repaired by dealer... it was loud it started off as a feeling in the peddle and turned into a pop when letting off the peddle. its seems like its comming back now :/ my shifting seems to catch a gear sometime, like there is an audible noise outside when shifting into 2nd or 3rd sounds like something metal on metal :/ im thinking of going in a and getting a new tranny. i have an 08
I have an '08 and this problem as well, though it is sporadic and I can never get it to happen when I want to show it to someone! I thought it was the beginning of my clutch going, but I only have 38k on the odo and I drive it pretty grandmotherly...
My mechanic said that a little rust was building up on the clutch plate or something, and is causing some metal grinding. Could be that, but it feels like bubble wrap popping when I let out the clutch. It happens pretty close to the floor when letting out the clutch.

Yes, please do find out. It may help me out, and others reading this. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info about this on the forums. I think I may take my car back into the shop to put it up on the rack. If I do then I'll pull out my NIkon and record it, in glorious HD no less
I fixed my popping issue. My problem was in the spring assembly attached to the pedal. Liberal application of grease to the spring assembly. There is a sort of shaft that runs through the spring. I slathered that up as well. My ribs hurt for a week after contorting up there but the pop was gone. BTW you have to prop the pedal to the floor to really get at everything.
A picture. (I hope the OP doesn't mind)

I got a suggestion from a local forum buddy about this.
"Your clutch "pop" is probably either the spring on the clutch fork that holds the throwout bearing in place, the spring on the clutch fork that holds the clutch fork on the pivot, or a broken or damaged pivot ball. If you pull the transmission to fix it, I'd suggest replacing the pivot ball, springs and throwout bearing, and check the fork. Alternately, it could also be a broken rivet in the clutch pressure plate (but that's not too common)."
So, I may bite the bullet, get a clutch/flywheel package, and see if replacing the above parts fixes it. If I do I'll update what I find out but first I'm going to see if I can get it up on the rack and record/video the issue.
I would hate to see you go though all the trouble. I've had two 350Z's that had a popping clutch pedal. The first one I just ignored. I traded it in. This one I intend to keep so I wriggeled my big a$$ up in there and lubed it all up. It was a small price to pay for the buttery smooth clutch pedal I now enjoy. Sure the clutch pedal still sticks half way down and burns when I try to really burn the tires off but I think that is another problem.
Maybe your problem is inside the bell housing somewhere. I would hate to see you spend all that time and money and end up with the same problem. I would lube that joint up first. Hell, if I could pack that whole area full of grease I wouldn't mind. Maybe I should invent something to do that.

I've never been able to figure out why heavy throttle application would affect how the clutch release system works, especially when you're just driving around, suddenly decide to do a burnout, and end up with a stuck pedal.
I can sorta understand how continued spirited driving would heat the whole system up after a while, but there's no time for the fork and TOB inside the bell housing or the cylinder and line outside to heat up during a one-time event.

I appreciate your concern about me spending my money, lol! Trust me, I'm concerned about it too
BUT, there are other issues at hand such as the fact I'm on 83k miles so it's probably a good time to get my transmission area in good shape especially if I decide to go with a moderate FI setup.
