my z is at 110,xxxx miles so i brought it to a friend of a friend who is a mechanic. he did a sidejob tuneup for 180. After he gave it back to me within 5 min my ses light came on.he told me the code was p0507 and only the dealer could fix this one by flashing my software. now the dealership wants 1-1.5hrs of labor which comes out to 150-200 for just a flash. does anyone know how to fix this without going to the dealer? i willing to pay someone on the forums rather than the stealership. id appreciate any help or comments. i live in sf bay area

 

how is the car idleing? try to do an idle relearn

 

he probably damaged/bumped the throttle body while cleaning...

+1 idle air relearning procedure (search for it)

If you are totally lost go to Rob @ Z Car Garage. He actually knows these cars unlike whatever dumb f*ck mechanic you took your car to.

He might have damaged the MAF sensor if he cleaned it improperly. Also, could be an air leak throwing stuff off.

 

he told me he tried to relearn the idle . the ses light can be reset but it just comes back on after 5 min of driving. where is z garage
