Hey whats up guys/girls. I've done my research on this and other sites and no one has had what is going on with my car(from what i read). The past three days I've noticed my cars temp. going up slowly but stops right before the second to last dash to the "H" then it'll drop back down to the middle point and even back to normal temp and my driving remains the same. Today, it did the same but instead of staying back down, it went back up again. So its going up and down when it wants.

My question is, what could it be? I'm thinking its the thermostat but then i've read it could be the water pump. Anyone can help me out on this? My car has 95k miles on it(2003). I did an oil change recently and all the fluids back in Feb. other than the cooling system.

Notes: its been between 92-101 degrees here in Miami. Could it be the weather is messing up with my gauge? should i just put in more coolant or a special additive like this:

It sounds to me like you may have an air bubble in your system. Its probably not your thermostat as it would most likely just get stuck (notice I said most likely) and not cause the fluctuation. An air bubble would cause the fluctuations in your temp readings. So would faulty fans. Sounds like you need to do some troubleshooting.

 

thanks for the response, im going to check out my fans tonight when i get home from work. The bubble, i should do a flush to get this fixed im assuming, right? or is there a way to take out the bubble without doing a full flush?

If you check your owners manual I believe it outlines the proper procedure for clearing your coolant lines.

 

I would if i had one lol. Car never came with one. I bought it used last October.
