Default 350z clutch problems

Ok so i have a 2004(manufactured in 10/03) and i have been having problems with my transmission. Sometimes when i give it WOT and shift hard into 2nd it will grind with the clutch pushed all the way in and sometimes 6th as well but only when shifting normally. I know this year transmission had a recall so I called Nissan and they said that this one was fine and if there was a recall it had already been fixed. So what Im wondering if I change the transmission fluid do you think it will help or what should I do? Thanks

It will help slightly. Here is a link to one thread concerning years 03-06. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...CNpJzqnsyhFgYA

In addition, there are so many other threads about transmission issues, just use the search man. The 03's transmission had synchro issues, but I guess it's luck of the draw because my friends 03 Z has 100k on it and he hasn't had any issues. Anyway, people here on the forums would suggest trying to take it to another dealership because sometimes you'll end up with a new transmission with another dealer. Also, the fluid flush should help duff out the grinding. IMHO, just take care of it now for peace of mind and good luck!

If you have an 03 the clutch forks where very weak in them, Upgrade to the Cast iron fork if you ever pull the trans out for any reason, You will also need the shorter pivot ball. This is one of the main reason why the early trans had syncro problems, The weak stamped steel fork bends under load and does not release the clutch all the way.

We have the upgrade kits in stock should you need one.
These are listed in the Z32 section but the kit is the same.

Hard WOT shifts are never good for the trans and will result is a screwed up trans rather quickly.
