Default Borla Exhaust

Hello,
I just installed the Borla 350Z '03-08 3.5L V6 AT/MT RWD 2DR exhaust on my 06 350z and it keeps throwing a check engine light. Went back to the shop and they checked the code and it had to do with my front bank o2 sensor. They reset the code and the light went off. they told me it was a learning cpu and it would take a few miles to register it. The light came back on, on the drive home. leaving me to believe they may be crazy. Any thoughts, tricks, best practices???

Check all the bolts and make sure everything is properly connected including the gaskets. I actually had a bolt fall off that connected my test pipes even though I used my impact gun. Although I get the error code once a week for my test pipes so check around there...

I think that's the same error code at least. What's the exact code?

There are 2 connections to the rear o2 sensors on the bottom of the transmission, I would check those, I had this exhaust on my g35 and man did it sound awesome! Enjoy it!

an exhaust alone will not cause an 02 related CEL

if you've got test pipes, those can cause it

if you've got high flow cats, those can cause it

if you've got a bad 02 sensor, that can be the cause

Default I see

I also had the same problem, as soon as I drove my Z out the shop and gunned it, it threw the code. Sometimes it turns itself off sometimes it doesnt. It wasn't until I recently I went to the stealership and now it doesnt come on anymore. They mentioned something about the o2 being removed during the install.

When you say front are you referring to the upstream or downstream sensor?
