I'm trying to find the source of water leaking into the drivers side interior on my '03 Z. I believe the source of the leak are the 2 little square shaped holes on both sides of this air intake screen. It looks like the should be capped off. On one of them I can see all the way into the drivers side floorboard so that tells me this must be it. When I cover them with tape sure enough it stops it. So I go to the local Nissan dealer parts department and they tell me there is no such part that covers those holes. He shows me on his computer there is no such thing. So he calls Nissan and they tell him the same thing. Then he tells me today that he looked at one that came into service and it was missing them too. Doesn't make sense to me!!!!

Can someone with an '03 check their car out and see if these holes are capped off or are they also open like what's in my picture.

No caps on mine, and never had a leak.

 

Wow! I can see all the way to the interior floorboard on mine. I wonder if something is supposed to be attached to the underside of the holes and mine came off.
