Exhaust System Hangers - OEM or aftermarket
Need some suggestions on hangers for the exhaust system. I will be installing a Fuji Legalis-R and the Motordyne XYZ pipe for my 2005 Z. The parts look amazing - should be a good combo.
Anyway, I want to do a great install and I have excellent mechanical abilities; but need help on some parts to buy to make sure the install goes well.
Would you recommend just buying new OEM rubber hangers - four are used on the install - two are the standard oval type and two are near the back which seem like they are only available as OEM parts.
OR, should I use polyurethane hangers like Top Speed or others sell?
Another question is - do any of you use sealant along with the gaskets when doing the part assembly?
Since the car is a 2005, I think the hangers should be replaced as preventative maintenance and I also plan to track the car some at autocross and track days anyway.
P.S. Anyone interested in an install thread - be glad to take pics as I get this system installed if anyone has interest in the parts. I give a definite highly recommend to "Tony" and Motordyne Engineering - their parts look amazing and custom service so far has been world class! The Fujitsubo Legalis R I got from Kuruma Motoring and I have also been pleased so far.

Fastie,
I'm certain the OEM rubber exhaust mounting hangers should be sufficient for a daily driver that sees occasional track usage, but I could see the merit of wanting to be extra cautious by opting for heavy-duty after market mounts.
Personally, I'd be a cheap skate and go with the OEM mounting hangers. I've shopped around on the Internet for these bad boys and the cheapest price I found was $6 each at nissanpartszone.com. Compared to the price of the Top Speed units it's a relative bargain Ultimately though, it all boils down to how often you plan on tracking your Z and how concerned you are about the mounting pieces becoming compromised under extreme stress. If you plan on religiously tracking the car then the Top Speed units may be worth the additional investment for added peace of mind
FYI, the OEM part numbers for the rubber exhaust mounting hangers are as follows: 20651-AA000 and 20651-CD000.

I would cheap out to the max and reuse what was there unless it was on death's door! If/when one fails you will easily notice and can fix it. I refuse to believe that ALL of them will spontaneously fail and drag your system on the ground, ruining it.
