Ok, So I have the loudest pig squeal out there. It only does it on cold starts or even after i let it cool down bout an hour or two. I bought a brand new alternator thinking it was that. Negative It still squealed. So I removed the belt that has the alternator on it and the squeal is still there. I noticed it does it alot more when I hit the AC on. Even more as I increase the AC air. I saw the AC clutch slipping a bit while it was squealing. I have UR pulleys. Umm can anyone help me I spent a whole day and a half on this crap. >.

Your A/C compressor might be going out, or the belt is worn and needs to be replaced. Also, incase you haven't, put that alternator belt back on.

Alternator belt is on, AC has an Artic blast, its super good. and the belts i purchased about 1 month ago. gates racing.

Bearing problem...?
Only way I know to check is to have someone,or yourself,listen to each area through something like a long piece of hose to pinpoint where the "squeal" is coming from.
This is what the old school mechanics do.

Apparently the moderators don't want you to access the site I got info from, so here's the info:
"..... when I installed my UR racing pulleys, I accessed the belt tensioner from underneath the car...remove the underbody guard and you should see two (2) adjustment bolts for the belts (one for each)."

yea i tighten my bolts up pretty tight and it stopped for a day or two, but i had a 7 hour drive and it started again. Think the belts might have stretch out a bit again

replace the belt. they sound old and loose. I bet you smell rubber when it starts to squeal.

i had this problem before. i just sprayed some belt spray stuff at walmart and it was gone. i forgot what it called.

^ Yes, belt dressing & tighten your belts to the correct torque before you put the bottom cover on. The belt(s) can squeal if they are either too tight or too loose.

Belt dresser is a band-aid fix and doesn't actually address the problem.

My guess is that you need to tighten the belts to the appropriate tension/deflection.

Ok, Well Ive messed soo much with them both ways tightening them and haveing them snug, but no luck. How do i get the correct torque applied to them?

That is a good question. I believe there is some tension/deflection tool for measuring - I just haven't been able to find one.

I have a pair of Gates Belt Tension Testers (Model 91132 for stiff deflection, 91107 for loose.) They also sell them as Krikit V-Belt Tension Gauges. They're pretty cheap and do a decent job getting you in the right tension range. If you're not sure of how tight a belt should feel by hand, then this is a cheap and workable alternative. You can get an expensive tension gauge, but outside of dealership garages, you're not likely to find them (they're a bit unnecessary if you're experienced at this stuff).

In regard to belt dressing, I concur 100% with 3hree5ive0ero; it's a band-aid fix and will likely cause more problems than it will solve. The stuff gums everything up and it will reduce even further the lifespan of your belt. That stuff should never be used on serpentine belts, for what it's worth. Finally, stay OEM with belts. The tolerances on modern cars can be pretty tight, so don't risk it with aftermarket belts.

Well the reason I have aftermarket belts is because of the OR pulleys I got. I figured out the squel is coming from the main crank pulley somehow causing the belts to slip. I will tighten up the belts a bit more this weekend.

how many miles on the belts? They really only last in the 30-40k mile range

proper size belts, properly torqued, will not squeal

tensioners, idlers that are worn will also cause the belt to lose proper tension - to check these, you remove all belts, spin the tensioners manually. Hear any griding or any noise beyond what a skateboard wheel sounds like free spinning, and you'll need to replace them as well..again, they are just wear items, they aren't meant to last forever. Lifespan depends on how often you maintain proper tension on the belts, and how you drive

Just had to correct guy that posted last about if sounds like a skateboard wheel, it it sounds like that it is considered bad you don’t want your bearing being that free spinning, I would consider that has done its job for long enough! I know old post but had to reply to that, drive me crazy if people thinking noisy bearings are alright hahaha
