Headunit Installed, CEL came on. VDC button don't work.
I got my Alpine INA-W910 installed yesterday. When I got my car, I noticed that I had a Check Engine Light. Tech said it was nothing and I can bring it back when they open next Monday and he'll clear it since the shop is right next to a discount tire and they have one them readers.
Anyways I got home and did some research and apparently if you install a new HU and you decide to test it w/out plugging the ribbon cable into the white box, it'll throw a CEL. So I decided to clear it via ECU reset later last night by the gas pedal method. I cleared the CEL, but my VDC button still doesn't do anything when I press it. I thought my VDC button not working at the time when I had a CEL was normal.
But anyways, I don't have any other unusual lights coming on, but generally when the VDC OFF is pushed, I'd get a VDC OFF light pop up so I know it's turned off. Mine is just not doing anything now when pushed. Is there something that the techs may have left unplugged? I also tried pushing my car in a turn to see if I would lose traction (so to see if other lights would come on), and I do get the SLIP light pop up when I lose traction in a turn.
