Default Leslie spill free funnel question (overheating)

So I tried the spill free funnel procedure today and I'm still overheating. I had the funnel on there for about 20 minutes with the heater on and reving to 3000 rpms for 10 sec intervals. I had about 3-4 marble size bubbles come up and a few tiny as well. Went for a ride and began to overheat when I sat in idle. Do I need to leave the funnel on longer? Also any tips to get this done right would be great.

Also I let the car sit with the funnel inplace for 10 minutes after the last bubble came up.

Are the fans coming on at the right time? Maybe your thermostat...

These z's are not too hard to bleed. Now my damn altima is a different story.

Yes fans work fine. When the car overheats, I turn the heater on and it blows cool until the the temp starts coming down.

The funnel is not going to force water into places it's trapped in. You still need to open the bleed screw, squeeze the upper hoses and all the other tricks.

Check out the bleed instructions at the bottom of this page:

I went over to g35driver and found a good write up on how to use the spill free funnel. Here is what I did.

1. Place the funnel on into the radiator and fill it 1/3 the way up.
2. turn the car on and get it to operating temp and turn the heater on.
3. Rev the car up slowly to 3000 rpms for 10 sec, then 4000 rpms for 10 sec.
4. Bring rpms down to idle slowly and turn on the a/c. at this point small bubbles began to come up.
5. Let the car idle for 5 min (watch your temp gauge). My temps began to rise.
6. turn the heat on and rev slowly to 3500 rpms and hold for 10 seconds. I did this a couple of time until my temps dropped to normal. at this point I began to get large burps of air and many bubbles.
7. I let the car idle for 10 minutes and shut it down for 45 minutes.

I ran this cycle 3 times with no bubbles on the 3rd cycle. So far no more overheating.

u say it blows "cool" when its overheating?...... there is deff air in the cooling system... i jack up the front of the car a little, to persuade the air out the highest point.. (aka the funnel)
