Default Problem: Coolant Temp Hot

So...

The first time it happened... my Z (2006 350Z Base, Single Turbo) I was sitting at a drive-thru and my car's temp went up through the roof in a matter of seconds... so I shut the car off, and let it cool down... it seems to have driven back to my house no problem at all. I sat in the car for a while just to see if the problem was when sitting still... but nothing... Eventually, the car did it again so I got the cooling system purged, problem solved.

Well... Problem's back... Sitting on a drive thru today, My Z overheated again... but the engine oil temp seemed fine. I shut the car off as soon as I noticed the steady climb. And drove back no problem, seemed to have normal temp. I'm trying to trouble shoot this down, ideas? Other than checking the level of the coolant (plz no smartass comments...)

I troubleshot the car some, Radiator fans don't turn on while idling. They turn on when the A/C is on, but not while it's off.

Alot of people have similar problems all over this forum. 3 things to check in order of important / price is - air in coolant, thermostat, water pump.

I am having the reverse problem you are, I can idle but as soon as I drive I go to H immediately.

Hope this helps
