Hey guys my car just started making this random noise.. Its only when the car has been sitting for a while (over night or while im in school for 8 hours), but basically whenever i start the car it starts up fine but about 1-2 seconds after starting it makes a bad grinding sound similar to if you try starting a car already on. The noise is quick but im hoping its not a big deal. Like i said it just started doing it now that its getting colder.. Its an 03 6 speed, anyone had a similar problem or got any ideas?

 

I have the same problem where I would start the car after not using it for a while, and then when i put it in gear and let out the clutch a bit, it will make a very loud grinding noise that will vibrate the whole car especially the gearshift. It seems to only happen when the clutch is not warmed up, which means that when its getting closer to winter, obviously its going to be getting worse. I'm not sure what the reason for this stupid sound, but i dont believe there is anything wrong with the car. My car is an 03' 6MT as well.

sounds similar but mine does it as soon as the car starts for like less than a second then you dont hear it again.. its very weird. i just recently purchased the car so im hoping its nothing too bad haha

 

I'm sure what you're hearing is not normal, but its not very serious either. Maybe take it to a shop to get it checked out? I took mine to a AAA shop to get a 100+ point inspection, and there was a lot of extremely detailed info that they told me about the car and its problems and wear, before i had bought it.
