At this point I am pretty disappointed with the process in which Nissan warranty claims are processed. Nissan Cooperate says it’s the job of the Nissan dealer to determine if a part is covered under warranty, Nissan dealer says it’s the job of Nissan Cooperate. Yet the Nissan dealer put notes in the case I opened for Nissan Cooperate stating it was not covered.

This morning I spoke with someone from Nissan cooperate who said a regional specialist would contact me this afternoon, but would have no new information that she couldn’t provide me.... Additionally this person is not in the position to determine if a specific part is covered under warranty or not.

At this point I am confused and annoyed. I just want to talk to someone who is knowledgably enough to know what this part is, and explain with reason why it is not covered.

When it comes down to it, I have no problem paying for a part that is not covered under warranty. That is assuming someone can explain the reason why, and point out the secion in the warranty booklet that outlines this. But if Nissan is going to run me around in a circle and not explain anything to me, I am going to be very unhappy.

I am pretty sure they slave is covered under 5 year 60,000 power train warranty.
Concentric Slave part # 306A1-JK40C
You can have them look it up right in front of you in their warranty guide.

If they won't help you I would suggest a different dealer.

Thanks for that reference number, I will contact the dealer and ask them to look this up. The first person I talked to at Cooperate Nissan was unable to even find this part when I said Concentric Slave Cylinder, or Slave Cylinder.

Dealer I called in tysons corner virginia stated there were 3 parts that showed up when I gave him that number. None of which were concentric slave cylinder, and they all were only covered under basic warranty.

I dont really believe him because he hung up after telling me that, and didnt leave me time to ask another question...

I know some of you know this, but the different between the HR and non rev models is that the slave cylinder in the non rev model are external which makes it easier to replace.

Yea, I discovered this when they went to replace this part. In the HR motors it is inside of the transmission.

Now what I am trying to find out is why it is not covered under powertrain warranty, as there is a clause that says "all cases and internal parts" are covered. At this point I have not gotten a straight answer from the dealership or from the "regional" person at cooperate.

Some of the people I have spoken to from nissan cooperate agree with me when I explain them where the part is, and directly quote the 2008 warranty booklet. However they do not havt the authority to make this call. And they will not let me speak to the warranty department who makes these decisions.

It wasn’t so much as getting the part or labor covered, that would be nice, but I really wanted an explanation as to why it was not covered from Nissan.

I just got off the phone with someone from 'Customer Affairs' at Nissan cooperate, who is assigned to the DC region. This person has told me my "vehicle" is under warranty and would not be covered under the "Good Will". I corrected them, as my vehicle is not under warranty and I am not trying to get this part covered under 'good will'. They provided me zero explanation as to why, and would not give me the name of the director or department that could.

My request was pretty simple; I wanted someone to explain to me why this part was not covered.

Overall I am very unhappy with the case flow for customer service cases inside of Nissan, as well as the visibility of information from the customer’s standpoint.

If your car is 2007 or newer (depending on new car delivery date) and has less than 60k on it it "IS" under power train warranty still and like I said before I am pretty sure the Clutch Slave falls under power train warranty.

Jk40D is the same part as the jk40c, jk40a ect. Just revised numbers.

Nissan cooperate, and the dealer continuously state that it is infact not covered under warranty. Nor will they give me a reason why....(This is for the CSC)

306a1jk40d is the part number that the dealership gave me, and said it was the CSC in my vehicle.

They are correct, That part is only covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles and is not covered under the 5 year 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. Looked it up myself today at the dealer I worked at years ago.
