the power seat switches get a little touchy in their old age. My previous 03 did that. I had to hit the button a few times before it would actually work. You can take the switch out and clean it with electrical contact cleaner (aerosol can available at any car parts store).

Or, you may need a new switch all together.

so i should try taking the seat out, and using electrical contact cleaner on the actual switch that i push to raise and lower the way it tilts?

any suggestion on specific type of cleaner to use?

You don't have to take the seat out. Just remove the switch from the seat. It unplugs under the seat and the switch should pop off, as it is bracketed to the seat.

The cleaner is CRC Electronic Cleaner. It is in a red aerosol spray can.
