ok so I am changing my differential fluid, I drained, it and it seemed a little low. Online, I read about 2 quarts, Nissan told me 3quarts, I even asked twice to make sure. Here is the problem. I raised the car and it is level, but I can only get in 1.5

so what is the real number and should I have the rear of the car raised higher when filling my diff fluid?

 

WTF? I put in 1.3 Litres.

Correct. 3 pints. Its impossible to overfill because the fluid will come out the filler plug hole.

 

From the shop manual = 3 liters. Suggest OP gets a copy which can be found online for free!

 

Turbo bob, doesn't that say 1.4L?

 

I put in just shy of 2 liters, maybe about 1.8 1.9. There just was not way possible to put that much in. With that being said, when I drained my diff fluid I said it looked low, but it actually was fine when compared to 1.9 liter. I have no idea why the dealership told me 3 quarts, but I will be giving them a call. I'll what they have to say about that.
