Default Planning a long road trip. Need advice on maintenance checklist

Hi everyone,

So I'm making an 8 hour road trip to Toronto from NYC. Here's what I'm doing pre-trip:

- Changing the belt because it's been squeaking for a while
- Oil change with Amsoil
- Gear oil has been changed 2k miles ago
- Front tires are being installed this week along with wheel alignment
- Coolant is current and good

Anything else? I'm making the drive alone, so I'm a little tense about it. Secondly, my TPMS light came on a month ago and never bothered to address it because tire pressure is good all around - I figured it's a faulty sensor or something. It it necessary to address it before my trip though? I should definitely make sure the donut has enough air too.

I have an ipod headunit so music taken care of already. Thanks in advance!

As long as you are current with normal maintenance, you should be good for any length/duration trip.

What type of tires do you have? I lived in NJ with my Z for a few years on the stock tires on, but never ventured out with anything more than a slight dusting. It helped that I also had a Jeep. I'm sure you know summer/performance tires + snow = #$%&%^$. So keep that in mind since you're heading a bit further north.

thanks for the feedback everyone. Maybe I was over thinking it but better to be safe than sorry. I'm on ziex 912s for the winter, so no issues there.

Dude you will be fine on an 8 hour drive. Just check your air pressure and fluids and you'll be fine. Have fun.

Yeah I thought you were talking about like 3000 miles or something. 8hrs is nothing! You'll be fine!

Trip was good, road trip was great! Its amazing how 8 hours can fly by when you got good music (and a pace car in front of you going fast hehe). Took some iphone pics, so obviously they're not the best. The Z was great throughout the whole trip, to and from. I must say that 6th gear (I have an 07) has a good amount of power from 70mph+ compared to my 03 6mt maxima I had previously. I love this car!
